Whole, 2024, ongoing series

Whole is a series created from reclaimed pieces of firewood and magnified into chains of cavernous spaces. The pieces are inspired by generative design to create a natural but alien form within the wood. Working to an idea, the artist uses subtractive sculpting to guide the interior shape and open portals for the viewer to explore and discover the intricacies within the space.
